Women in Architecture meeting roundup

5/10/2020

The RSUA Women in Architecture sub-group met on 29 September with Aisling Shannon-Rusk chairing proceedings.

Members agreed to approach Rachel O’Grady about hosting a site visit for members of the group to the Ormeau Parklet and considered the possibility of a practice visit to Melanie O’Reilly’s Strangford church.

The sub-group runs an Instagram to promote women working in and around architecture and members discussed how to further develop this initiative in 2021. An online event was considered with previous participants as guest speakers and a shortlist is being compiled of potential contributors.

Members also discussed coordinating the Instagram initiative for a further year and a list of potential art & design experts will be shared to build up a bank of contributors. The potential for students (one from each university) to assist the initiative was also considered. Members who would like to put their names forward should contact Jude Falloon (jude@rsua.org.uk).

Jude agreed to circulate a seminar flyer on assertiveness to all members of the group and contact the organisers about delivery options and costs.
