Will there be a new direction for National Lottery Heritage Fund?

22/02/2022

The Department for Communities has published a consultation on the policy directions of the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

As part of the Lottery oversight, the government is permitted to give direction as to determining the purposes for which and the conditions subject to which the Trustees apply any money. The NI Executive has not exercised this authority before and is now seeking to set policy directions. The Royal Society of Ulster Architects (RSUA) will be responding to the consultation via it’s Conservation Committee.

The consultation document can be found here.  The closing date for responses is 5 pm on 25 April 2022.

Since 1994 we have awarded over £260million to more than 1,700 projects across Northern Ireland. It’s current investment strategy projects that the organisation will invest around £1.2 billion in the UK’s heritage between 2019 and 2024.
