The next RSUA Study Trip will take place from Friday 16 June to Sunday 18 June 2023.
Due to the popularity and depth of learnings gained from our recent biennial study trips, we have decided to organise a trip every year. We will take it in turns between a UK and Ireland destination and a continental European destination.
This year we plan to explore what Belfast can learn from Cork in relation to attracting people to live, study and work and how tourism and investment can be boosted through architecture and urban design.
The trip is being curated by RSUA member and former resident of Cork, Conor McKenna, with the support of the RSUA staff team. We are well advanced in our preparations for a trip which aims to be stimulating, thought provoking and friendship forming; a trip which has the potential to change how we think and act when we get back. View the core activities below but other talks/tours are currently being lined up.
Just like our trips to Madrid, Hamburg and Copenhagen, we are inviting a wide range of people who play a key role in shaping the built environment in Northern Ireland – clients, policy makers, and construction professionals.
The trip is also about exploring the connection between the second and third largest cities on this island. The plan is to use the train journey as a part of the trip – for talks and for conversation.
