RSUA meets with Belfast City Council’s Director of Planning and Building Control

On Thursday 24 August 2023, RSUA members met with Kate Bentley, Director of Planning and Building Control at Belfast City Council (BCC).

The meeting was a follow-on from the meeting in October 2022 and provided an opportunity to hear what has changed over the last 10 months as well as give members an opportunity to provide feedback.

The following topics were discussed at the meeting:

• Adoption of new Local Development Plan (LDP) Plan Strategy and members raised issues with current planning applications
• VU.City and the requirement to use VU.City
• New planning portal and issues surrounding the planning portal
• Neighbourhood objections in relation to planning applications
• Pre-planning discussions
• Building Control
• NI Water

At the meeting it was also announced that Ciaran Mackel is the new Chair of the RSUA Belfast Local Group. For more information click here.
