RSUA ECAF Update
25 September 2024
The RSUA Early Career Architects’ Forum (ECAF) met online today. Chaired by Alex Knowles, the Early Career Architects Forum supports architects in Northern Ireland in their first ten years of practice; consecutive or otherwise and provides a platform for the society’s newest members to engage on matters specifically pertaining to the development of early career architects.
The group discussed the upcoming exhibition being planned for a public realm space in Belfast. This follows the exciting news that the Committee had been awarded funding through the RIBA Local Initiative Fund. The exhibition will take place before the end of 2024, and will feature the work of early career architects.
ECAF Chair, Alex Knowles shared that he has met with other groups representing early career professionals in other organisations to discuss working together. This is part of the Committee’s goal to engage with other organisations.
Also discussed were the suggested articles for the upcoming ECAF feature in Perspective magazine. 11 submissions had been received. The decision was made to share all the submissions with the ECAF group and have members rank their favourite submissions, to decide which piece to put forward to Perspective.
The ECAF group will next meet in person on 4 December 2024.
