RSUA Conservation Committee update
20/11/2019
The RSUA Conservation Committee met on 20 November and was joined by Richard Kirk from Work+. The Committee discussed a range of issues relating to conservation of the built environment and methods of promotion.
The RSUA Conservation Committee undertook to review the conservation element of the Local Development Plans Draft Plan Strategies as they emerge and hope to draft a paper on the scope of services for condition surveys of the government estate. RSUA will also draft guidelines on the use of NEC in conservation projects as part of its commitment to enhance the conservation knowledge and skills of architects and others.
RSUA will consider issuing a call for expressions of interest, in conjunction with Queen’s University Belfast and Richard Kirk regarding apprenticeships as a route to achieving a masters degree in conservation at Queen’s University. In other training news, the RSUA Conservation Diploma will be deferred to early 2020.
