RSUA addresses All Party Group on Climate Action

On 26 March 2021 RSUA participated in the Northern Ireland Assembly All Party Group (APG) on Climate Action. The purpose of the APG is to provide a forum for discussion between politicians, business leaders, NGOs and academics to drive forward conversation on Climate Action in Northern Ireland and is chaired by Rachel Woods MLA.
The meeting received presentations from Dolores Kelly MLA on her proposed “Environment and Nature Restoration” private members bill and the topic of community energy. The group also discussed climate and energy governance as well as climate proofing plans, policies, and decisions. The group agreed to consider sustainable land use and buildings at its April meeting.
RSUA raised its concerns with the APG about the pace of implementation of NZEB standards and noted that the Department of Finance have committed to provide a briefing on its planned review of energy performance building regulations to the next meeting of the APG.
