Royal Assent for Defective Premises Act

The Defective Premises Bill received royal assent today, meaning it now takes immediate effect as the Defective Premises Act.
The legislation extends the limitation period for actions taken in relation to defective or damaged buildings from six years to 15 years prospectively, and from six years to 30 years retrospectively.
RSUA will be running some information sessions on the Defective Premises Act in the near future.
