RSUA is preparing to launch an exhibition of some 70 sketches from the collection of Colin Maxwell’s family.
Colin showed his skill with a pencil and his deep appreciation of architecture through these sketches. The exhibition will showcase various finished and unfinished sketches from across Colin’s lifetime, allowing us a glimpse into the process of an accomplished draughtsman.
Colin regularly exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy’s annual show, and in his retirement, he found joy in capturing the beauty of Venice, drawing his favourite buildings during annual visits.
The event will remember Colin’s work as we approach the third anniversary of his passing. We are very grateful to Linda Maxwell for donating these pieces to be shown in the RSUA Office, 2 Mount Charles and to Michael Doherty and Marcus Patton for hanging the pieces.
More information on the launch event for this exhibition will follow.
