One month to go until the next RSUA Conservation Course
06/09/23
The RSUA is running a 5 day course in Historic Building Conservation aimed at architects and related professionals working in the fields of conservation, refurbishment and restoration. The course begins on Wednesday 11 October 2023 and will run until Wednesday 15 November 2023. The course is designed to meet the formal accreditation criteria for the Conservation Registrant (CR) level of the RIBA Conservation Register but will be of equal benefit to technologists, planners and surveyors involved in conservation work.
It is understood that Historic Environment Division – Department for Communities (HED) are moving towards a requirement for formal accreditation as a condition of historic building grant aid. The Heritage Lottery Fund require all architects involved in work which they are funding to be conservation accredited.
The course programme is based on the ICOMOS Education and Training Guidelines and the format of the www.understandingconservation.org training website which has been agreed across a wide range of professional and statutory bodies. Full details of the RIBA Accreditation Scheme can be found on the RIBA website.
The course will be co-ordinated by Marcus Patton and speakers will be a mix of local and national experts. This is an intensive course of lectures maintaining the high reputation that the previous RSUA courses have held.
