Nominations for RSUA Council
RSUA members are invited to stand for election to RSUA Council. Each year, 7 of the 21 Council seats come up for election. This year there are also 2 seats from the 2022 election cycle that are now vacant. As a result, 9 seats are open for election in 2023.
The Council is the Board of Directors/Trustees for RSUA and is the ultimate decision-making body. We are seeking nominations from architects in all walks of life to reflect the diversity of our membership. We particularly encourage nominations from women and architects based outside greater Belfast.
Who can stand for election to RSUA Council?
Any chartered member can nominate themselves or any other chartered member. The current President, Paul McAlister, the Immediate Past President, Donal MacRandal and the President-Elect (to be confirmed) do not have to stand for election.
Council terms
If you put your name forward for election to RSUA Council in 2023 and you are successfully elected, 7 of the seats will be for a three-year term running from May 2023 until May 2026. The other 2 seats will be for a two-year term running from May 2023 until May 2025. If circumstances require, Council members can resign at any point during their term.
