The Northern Ireland Executive has agreed the long-awaited draft technical guidance on the implementation of the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) regulations. RSUA has been pressing for this action to be taken since 2020 and welcomes the start of the process.
At its meeting on Thursday 23 September 2021 the Executive approved proposals to consult on amendments to Technical Booklet guidance to Part F (Conservation of fuel and power) of the Building Regulations.
Department of Finance officials are now working to publish these in the coming fortnight or so.
The Department of Finance will be holding two online events as part of the consultation process.
Event 1 – Introduction
2pm on Thursday 21 October 2021: An introductory session to explain the proposals, timelines, potential practical out-workings and planned subsequent steps. The registration link can be found here.
Event 2 – Clarification and Feedback
2pm on Thursday 18 November 2021: A session to review and provide clarification on the consultation documents, if necessary, for those responding to the consultation. The registration link can be found here.
If any registration issues are experienced, please email info.bru@finance-ni.gov.uk to request assistance.
Further information sessions will be planned upon publication of any final, post-consultation proposals.
