The winner of Northern Ireland’s New Home of the Year accolade at the RSUA Architecture Awards 2026, Tollymore by McGonigle McGrath has received a RIBA National Award.
Tollymore is the practice’s fifth project in seven years to receive this award, making McGonigle McGrath the UK practice with the highest number of RIBA National Awards for single family houses in that timeframe.
The RIBA National Awards are given to buildings across the UK in recognition of their significant contributions to architecture. 2026’s National Award winners have been selected by the jury from the RIBA Regional Award winners.

Tollymore by McGonigle McGrath, a family home nestled into a site in the shadow of the Mourne Mountains in County Down, was praised by the RSUA Architecture Awards judges for its six ‘exquisitely detailed’ individual volumes, linked by courtyards to create a relationship between the indoors and outdoors.

Previous National award-winning projects by McGonigle McGrath include House on Redbrae Farm in 2024, Hill House in 2023, House at Lough Beg in 2022 and House Lessans in 2019, which was crowned RIBA’s House of the Year in the same year.
