Linen Quarter BID survey shows support for urban improvement
20/01/2021
The Linen Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) has published the results of a public consultation which asked a range of stakeholders about potential changes to the District’s urban environment.
This follows from the pilot improvements made in the area as part of the Better Bedford Street project. The responses to the consultation indicated an overwhelming appetite for a greater focus on pedestrian and cycling routes, new social spaces, and the removal of car parking spaces. The survey also highlights support for pop-up public realm schemes at Brunswick St, Adelaide St and Linenhall St as a way to increase footfall and boost the local retail and hospitality industry.
The findings of the survey can be seen here.
