– Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience and part status

NOT YOUR AVERAGE ARCHITECTURE JOB

We work on buildings with stories. Former hospitals becoming homes. Derelict warehouses finding new purpose. Landmark heritage structures brought carefully back to life. And when the brief calls for something entirely new – a contemporary clubhouse on a dramatic coastal golf course, a new home in a sensitive landscape – we bring the same design rigor and care to getting it right in its context.

At Rejen Architects, we specialise in adaptive reuse, heritage regeneration, and sustainability – and we believe that the most exciting architecture often starts with what’s already there. We’re based in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, and we work on both sides of the border on projects that genuinely matter to the places and communities they’re part of.

We’re now looking for two people to join us: one at Part 1, one at Part 2.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

These are real roles – not filing and making tea. From early on, you’ll be working on live projects, contributing to design, developing drawings, and getting involved in the full arc of how a building gets realised. You’ll be part of a small, talented team where your work is seen, your ideas are heard, and your development is taken seriously.

Depending on your stage and experience, you might be:

– Gaining structured Part 1 and Part 2 experience and support, with a team genuinely invested in your progression
– Contributing to design proposals and concept development across heritage, hospitality, regeneration, residential, and new build projects
– Developing technical drawings and coordinating with consultants
– Supporting planning submissions and heritage assessments
– Attending site visits and client meetings
– Getting involved in research and thought leadership that shapes how we talk about our work and our sector

The studio is ambitious and growing fast. The people who join now will help shape what it becomes.

WHY REJEN?

– Exceptional projects. No two the same. Every one with genuine design and social purpose – from sensitive heritage interventions to striking new builds in remarkable locations.

– Real learning. You’ll be working directly alongside experienced architects and a director who is invested in your growth. Part 1 and Part 2 experience is structured, supported, and taken seriously.

– A team worth joining. Small enough that everyone matters. Big enough in ambition to keep you challenged.

– A clear path forward. We promote from within. Part 1s grow into Part 2s. Part 2s grow into senior roles. We want people who want to build a career here, not just pass through.

– Competitive salary and bonus scheme. We pay well and reward contribution and impact – not just time served.

– Cathedral Quarter. Culture, creativity, great coffee, and excellent architecture on your doorstep.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

For the Part 1 role, you’ll have recently completed (or completing) your undergraduate degree in architecture and be looking for a practice that will challenge and inspire you from day one.

For the Part 2 role, you’ll have completed your Part 2 (or equivalent) and have some practice experience – with a genuine interest in heritage, conservation, or regeneration alongside the design ambition to match.

BOTH CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE:

– A strong interest in adaptive reuse, heritage, and architecture that makes places better

– A real flair for design – we want people who care deeply about how things look, feel, and work

– Good software proficiency across the tools we use day-to-day (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite) — solid skills here are essential

– Curiosity, motivation, and a genuine eagerness to learn and develop

– The ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and take initiative in a fast-moving studio

We’re also interested in candidates who bring something a little different – a unique skill, perspective, or area of knowledge that could add real value to what we do. If that’s you, tell us about it.
