Belfast City Council have issued the prior information notices relating to the new ‘Belfast Stories’ project. The largest city centre investment seen in a generation.
Belfast Stories will be a new culture and tourism destination in Belfast City Centre. This landmark £100million new attraction in the heart of the city centre is due to open its doors in 2028 and will transform the currently vacant site around Royal Avenue and North Street including the restoration of one of Belfast’s most beloved heritage buildings – the art deco former Bank of Ireland building on Royal Avenue.
The project will include an interactive visitor experience with “Belfast’s people and personality at its heart including first person stories of our past, present and future”, a state-of-the-art screen centre including cinema and a home for Northern Ireland’s Screen’s digital archive and “vibrant indoor and outdoor spaces” for year round events and programmes.
The Prior Information Memorandum released by Belfast City Council outlines the need to recruit the following professionals:
• Integrated Design Team (IDT)
• Interpretative Planning and Exhibition Design Team (IPEDT)
• Project Management and Design Assurance Team (PMDAT)
