The RSUA General Meeting took place on Friday 21 April 2023. The meeting started with an architect-led building tour of the North West Transport Hub which was a winner in the RSUA Design Awards 2022. The tour was led by Ciara Young from Consarc Design. A major focus on the brief of the transport hub was conservation. The clients wanted to retain as many elements of the original building as possible and the original trusses are still in place today.
After the tour of the transport hub, the meeting itself took place in The Walled City Brewery which was a short ten-minute walk from the transport hub. At the meeting, members discussed issues with the new Department for Infrastructure planning portal. RSUA has been actively engaging with the department to highlight the issues with the planning portal and how these can be rectified.
The next General Meeting will take place on 6 October 2023. This will be an online meeting and we will continue with the next in the ‘My Architecture’ series.
The RSUA Annual General Meeting is taking place on Friday 26 May 2023 at the Grand Opera House. Notice has been issued to members and a further reminder will be issued in the next few weeks.
