Financial planning for the future of PLACE

09/06/2021

The RSUA PLACE Committee met today to review a detailed proposal on securing longer-term financial support for:

  • aiding co-operation between the key organisations involved in shaping the future of architecture and the built environment in Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on Belfast
  • a programme of activities to inform, engage and empower the public on matters of architecture and the built environment.

Most of the organisations on the PLACE committee will now have a 1-2-1 meeting with RSUA and its business planning consultant to gauge what financial support can be offered by each organisation. The aim is to draft a bespoke proposal for each organisation represented with a view to funding commencing in 2022.

In the short term, RSUA may be in a position to apply for pre-existing funds to facilitate the earlier commencement of some elements of this work.

The next PLACE Committee meeting will take place on 6 October 2021.
