Belfast City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for their Homes On Upper Spaces for Everyone (H.O.U.S.E.) Programme.
The aim of this programme is to develop information relating to the potential repurposing of vacant upper floor spaces for residential use in Belfast city centre.
This work has been evolving in line with the aspirations of the Belfast Agenda to increase the population to 8000 by 2035 and deliver 745 retrofit homes that will help to support an inclusive, sustainable and thriving city centre.
Belfast City Council has been assessing vacancy levels across the city centre on upper floors to determine the scale that could lend themselves to retrofit, they are now keen to discover the interest to bring forward these spaces for residential living.
Following analysis of the results, Belfast City Council hope that they are able to identify a delivery model. At this stage, this is solely an exploratory exercise that may inform future decisions.
