The economy of the Republic of Ireland continues to perform very strongly and increasingly architects in Northern Ireland are looking south to bolster their local workload. The attraction is not just the opportunity for new work but also the profitability of the work.
However, seeking to win and then undertake work in a different jurisdiction inevitably brings some practical challenges.
Following a 4.6/5 rating from attendees of last year’s event, RSUA has again partnered with Queen’s University Belfast to organise an in-person workshop, designed to help RSUA members to navigate these challenges.
This event is targeted at architects and future-architects interested in working in the Republic of Ireland and those already doing so, who wish to consolidate their knowledge.

Speaker info – Stephen Best
Stephen Best is a seasoned architect and educator who brings a wealth of experience to this workshop. Following a 15-year career at Foster + Partners, including a partnership role and managing their Dublin office, he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the Technological University Dublin in 2009 where he leads professional development. Since 2020, Stephen has been a lead instructor for two RIAI professional training programmes for the Office of Government Procurement covering capital works and procurement.
