The Minister for the Economy, Diane Dodds MLA, has launched an Economic Recovery Action Plan. Whilst the full delivery of the plan will require additional investment at a time when public expenditure is likely to be constrained, the plan indicates a number of broad themes for improving the economy.
Under the rubric “Building a Greener Economy”, the plan recommends the development of “proposals to introduce an Energy Efficiency Home Retrofit Scheme to drive energy efficiency in the NI building stock, providing opportunities for job creation and green economic growth”.
