On Thursday, we unveiled the new exhibition in the RSUA Design Box!
This collaboration with Belfast School of Art’s Textile Art, Design and Fashion course sees three pieces from Rachel McComb’s graduate collection ‘Atropa Belladonna’ recreated in half scale. Rachel’s work is heavily inspired by Victorian silhouettes and explores the tension between death and femininity through poisonous plants and their shape, form and dark allure.

The exhibition will be in place until late November, so make sure to stop in and have a look if you’re passing the iconic Assembly Rooms.
RSUA Design Box launched in December 2024 with an inaugural exhibition from Model Citizen by architect John Donnelly. The Design Box was the winning entry of the 2023 RSUA/JP Corry Early Career Architects Design Competition ‘Please replace the handset and try again’, submitted by Julian Manev in collaboration with James Boyd, and Erl Johnston. The project was delivered by the winning design team in collaboration with Mark Todd Architects and Cathedral Quarter BID. To view the winning designs for the competition, click here.
