DfC seeks views for enhanced high-rise residential building safety

16/01/2025

The Department for Communities (DfC) Residential Building Safety team is seeking input from stakeholders involved in the commissioning, design, construction, maintenance, and management of high-rise residential buildings (HRRBs).

This engagement aims to inform the development of new policies and legislation to enhance the safety of these buildings in Northern Ireland.

This initiative follows the findings of the Hackitt reports, the inquiry into the Grenfell tragedy, and the recommendations made by an Expert Panel concerning HRRB safety in Northern Ireland.

DfC will hold two engagement sessions:

  • Tuesday, 21st January 2025 at 10am for public sector representatives.
  • Thursday, 23rd January 2025 at 12pm for industry representatives.

Both events will take place at the Voco Hotel, Cromac Place, Belfast. To register, please email the Department’s Residential building safety team.
