Department for the Economy seeks input to Energy Strategy
18/12/2019
The Department for the Economy (DfE) recently launched a call for evidence to inform the development of a new Energy Strategy for Northern Ireland. You can read more about the Energy Strategy and the call for evidence by clicking this link: DfE Energy Strategy.
Buildings are responsible for a large element of energy consumption and therefore have an important role to play in mitigating climate change. Architects need to be aware of the role of energy production and consumption particularly with growing awareness of the potential benefits of micro-generation.
The RSUA Climate Emergency Committee has organised a meeting with Joe Reynolds from the Department for the Economy at 4pm on Thursday 6 February 2020 at RSUA, 2 Mount Charles, Belfast, BT7 1NZ. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the new Energy Strategy. As part of the emerging programme of work, the committee also hopes to meet with representatives from DfI to discuss climate change mitigation and adaptation.
If you would like to attend the meeting with Joe Reynolds on Thursday 6 February 2020 please contact Jude Faloon by emailing jude@rsua.org.uk by no later than Thursday 30 January 2020.
The RSUA Climate Emergency Committee is also preparing a formal response to this call for evidence however anyone is welcome to respond.
