Climate Emergency Committee update

23/09/2020

The RSUA Climate Emergency Committee met virtually on 18 September and discussed a range of issues, including NzEB guidance and requirements and steps towards finalising the draft RSUA Position Paper entitled “Climate Emergency – what changes are required to our built environment and how they can be achieved”, and the current draft will be shared with committee members.

The committee agreed to engage with the public on NzEB requirements and to submit a request to the finance committee asking for an opportunity to raise NzEB concerns. It also agreed that Alan Ritchie and Aoife Weiberg would lead a subgroup to draft NzEB guidance in the absence of any official guidance from the Department to which all committee members would be invited to join.
