Clarity expected on building regulations from Department of Finance

On 11 November RSUA wrote to the Finance Minister, Conor Murphy MLA, to request urgent clarity on the building regulations which relate to the energy performance of buildings, in anticipation of the pending change from 31 December 2020.

The Department of Finance has since written to RSUA indicating that the Minister is keen to provide the industry with certainty and the Northern Ireland Building Regulations Advisory Committee (NIBRAC) has considered a draft Information Note and provided comments to the Department. RSUA understands that the Department will publish its response this week and members will be updated directly on the contents of this announcement.
