Buns or Cake?
On Wednesday 17 May 2023 we invite you and your colleagues to upgrade your regular mid-morning break with buns or cakes to help raise funds for the Architects Benevolent Society (ABS).
This year RSUA is supporting the ABS Bake the World a Better Place initiative by committing to match funds raised by RSUA members and practices up to a maximum of £1,500.
ABS has chosen 17 May 2023 for this event as, not only is it World Baking Day, but it also falls within Mental Health Awareness Week – with mental health support being a major part of the work of ABS. To find out more about what ABS does, visit https://www.absnet.org.uk/get-help/
What’s involved?
Mostly this is just about architects across Northern Ireland taking a collective break and making a small donation at the same time. But to make it a bit more special and enjoyable, we would encourage you to do some baking or take the easy option and call into your local bakery. You could even push the boat out and organise a baking competition or a cake sale.
How to raise funds and donate?
You can take part as an individual or as a practice. We suggest that participants may wish to make a small donation, say £5, and send it to RSUA. If 300 members do that, we’ll raise £1,500 which will be doubled to £3,000.
Funds raised can be submitted to RSUA in the following ways:
- Drop cash in to the RSUA office
- Do an online bank transfer to RSUA. Sort Code: 95 01 49. Account No: 4111 1426.
- Make a payment by credit/debit card over the phone
What do I do now?
If you would like to take part, please let us know by contacting Lucy Mulgrew on lucy@rsua.org.uk or 07483346160 by next Friday, 12 May 2023 if possible.
RSUA will host a tea and coffee morning at 10.30am here at 2 Mount Charles for any members who fancy popping in – just let us know in advance so we have enough buns!
