BBC Restoration Rescue – call for projects

10/03/2021

The Belfast-based production company Below the Radar has made contact with RSUA about a new series they are making for BBC Northern Ireland called ‘Restoration Rescue’. The show will feature residential projects across Northern Ireland and there’s a possibility the series may be broadcast nationally on BBC 2 as well.

The new series follows a documentary the company made last year called ‘Restoring Ormiston’

The Below the Radar team is particularly interested in the historical aspect of these restorations – the story of the original buildings and the social history surrounding them – and history will play an important role in the series.

Claire Burgoyne, Below the Radar’s development producer, is now searching for more potential properties to feature in the series:

  • Restoration projects (older houses being restored for a new generation or older buildings being conserved and repurposed as homes) that are due to take place in 2021/2022
  • Older buildings that have already been transformed into homes (over the past five or so years)
  • The team would welcome buildings of all eras from the 17th century up to the 1950s/1960s

If you have any suggestions, Claire would be delighted to hear from you. Her email address is cburgoyne@belowtheradar.tv and phone is 07392 866 376.
