BBC responds to misuse of term ‘architect’

26 July 2024

We were recently contacted by a member highlighting an inaccuracy in a recent BBC ‘Crowdscience’ podcast, when a guest was incorrectly described as an architect. In response we subsequently contacted the BBC, and their swift response is copied below.

Hi George,

Many thanks for taking the time to contact the BBC World Service.

I shared your email with the production team of Crowdscience who both apologise for the error which you rightly point out is/can be confusing for the audience.

We strive to make error free programmes but mistakes happen despite our best efforts. We are in the process of correcting the mistake by editing the audio on the website (hopefully today but by the weekend at the latest).

I hope the above is acceptable with a repeated thank you for writing to us.

Best regards,
Dejan Calovski
