Annual Preparing for Practice event equips architects with valuable insights

06/09/23

On Thursday 31 August 2023, RSUA, in partnership with Architecture at Queen’s and ARCex held the annual Preparing for Practice event. The event is held each year for all Part 3 students due to take their exams in September and aims to provide an informal pre-exam discussion led by experts in their respective fields.

Whilst this event is focused on helping Part 3 students prepare for their final exams it also provided a useful refresher to recently qualified architects and Part 2 students.

This year we were pleased to welcome the following speakers:

  • Niall Patrick Walsh, Architect – What Artificial Intelligence (AI) means for architects
  • Joan McCoy, White Ink Architects – Designing for fire and life safety
  • Michael Gordon, Turley – The planning process for large projects
  • Martin Hare, McAdam Design – Fee management and writing a scope of services
  • Jim Armstrong, JS Held – Project handover and completion

RSUA wishes to extend our thanks to all the speakers for voluntarily providing their time and expertise.

Following the presentations, attendees were provided with complimentary pizzas and drinks.
