The RSUA Council met today in 2 Mount Charles.
Each Council meeting includes a debate. This meeting’s debate was centred around the future of the RSUA Design Awards. Ciarán Fox provided an overview of the current awards process and invited Alan Ritchie and Feargal Rainey to open the debate. The debate led to a discussion on moving away from the current process and what that might look like. A set of recommendations were proposed and a formal paper will now be prepared in advance of the next Council meeting. All RSUA members will be informed of the direction of travel before the next meeting.
Ciarán Fox updated Council regarding RSUA’s plan to support members in achieving their mandatory CPD requirements. A paper was provided for Council members at the meeting. The paper demonstrated how these requirements have been met so far and what will be done before the end of the year to fulfill outstanding requirements. This paper will be shared with the wider membership before the end of September.
It was also agreed that there will be two new Honorary Members announced at Architecture Night 2025.
Council will next meet on 17 November 2025.
