Frustrations aired over NI Water connections slowing development
03/12/2021
Frustrations have been aired by architects over the delays in connecting in-progress projects to the NI Water network.
Concerns were raised at the RSUA General Meeting, where it was heard that both architects and their clients have been left out of pocket whilst waiting for their buildings to be connected to the water supply.
It was confirmed that RSUA will be seeking clarification on this important issue with NI Water.
Members also raised specific concerns in relation to NBS Chorus. Namely the recent significant price increases, the duration of licenses and the advance notice required to cancel a subscription and poor functionality particularly with regards to engagement with Revit. RSUA will raise this at the next RIBA Council Meeting.
It was also reported that further development of the RSUA’s response to proposed changes to the part F technical booklet is still underway. RSUA will be sharing this draft will members, but there is still time contribute by contacting Emmet Doyle, Policy and Public Affairs Officer on emmet@rsua.org.uk.
