Enrolment up in QUB Architecture

10/09/2019

This academic year has seen a substantial rise in the number of students studying architecture at Queen’s University Belfast. RSUA understands that in the previous year only 27 students had been enrolled in architecture and had written to QUB to express its concerns.

One significant barrier for local students is the misplaced belief by careers and art teachers that specific subjects are required at A Level to study architecture, particularly Maths, Physics and Art. This is an issue which RSUA hopes to address in the future as it could potentially deter students from studying architecture if their school doesn’t offer these subjects or they are studying other subjects.
