RSUA Design Awards are postponed
29/09/2020
The decision has been taken to postpone the RSUA Design Awards 2020 until 2021. This follows the decision by RIBA to postpone the RIBA Awards 2020.
RSUA had been working closely with the RSUA Design Awards judging panel and the architects/clients of the shortlisted projects to find a way to allow judging visits to take place in October 2020. Arrangements were close to being finalised however for the following reasons we will now be postponing:
- RIBA Awards postponed and this affects the RIBA judge on our panel and the direct connection of the RSUA Design Awards into the RIBA awards UK-wide
- Only one judge would have been able to undertake visits
- Some shortlisted projects could not facilitate a judging visit
- Uncertainty about new measures that could be introduced in the next fortnight due to the increasing number of cases of COVID-19
All projects shortlisted for the RSUA Design Awards 2020 will automatically be shortlisted for the RSUA Design Awards 2021. A gallery of images of the shortlisted buildings is available here.
