RSUA Council’s first meeting for 2024

The RSUA Council met at 4pm on Monday 15 January 2024.

The council were pleased to receive a presentation from the 2021 Alan Barnes Scholarship Recipient, Connor Curley who used the scholarship to aid his travels to Japan.

An update was provided to council members on RSUA’s four year plan. A number of actions were agreed including, RSUA launching a member salary survey, the developing of an apprenticeship model and the holding of at least one public debate.

RSUA Director CiarĂ¡n Fox provided updates on the upcoming RSUA Study Trip to Vienna as well as all confirmed events in the RSUA calendar for 2024.

Council Members took part in an interesting debate on whether RSUA should publicly support PassivHaus performance for most buildings.

Council Members also discussed the Department of Finance’s recent publication of the ‘Improving Safety in High Rise Residential Buildings in Northern Ireland’ report.

The next meeting of the council will be on 11 March 2024.
