QUB PGCert Cinematic Architecture

Back in 2022 Queen’s University Belfast started a new postgraduate certificate programme called ‘Cinematic Architecture’. The programme is funded by the DfE SkillUp, so no tuition fees are required. Applications for this year’s programme are now open and funding for the programme is open solely to NI residents.

The course runs for two semesters, 12 weeks each, from September 2023 to May 2024 and the contact time for the course is Tuesdays (10am-5pm) in person at 15 Chlorine Gardens at Queen’s Campus.

The deadline for applications is 25 August 2023.

The course focuses on cinematic and digital arts, advanced spatial media, moving imagery and creative design practices to broaden learners’ conceptual thinking and critical reflection on art, design, and architecture. The course is open to all creative backgrounds including architecture, interior architecture, (all variations of) design, film studies, animation, photography, and all other forms of art.

CineArch students with an architecture background will have the chance to take 3 more modules the following year to complete a master’s course if they wish. The studio-based part-time course is linked to MSc Advanced Architectural Design course. More information on the studio-based part-time course can be found here.
