Happy to live here? – was an exhibition created in 2005 by two architects, Mark Hackett and Declan Hill in conjunction with PLACE Northern Ireland’s Architecture Centre. The exhibition examined the impact of the ” Quality initiative” on the design, layout and landscaping of new residential developments. A booklet of the findings was published and is discussed in the first part of this publication.
Building our Children’s Future- this publication offers a comment on the strengths and limits of school design in Ireland and the UK through a series of essays. It is an important legacy document of an initiative where professionals and public alike were eager to engage in, and debate the ongoing issues of school design.
Healthcare and Architecture-this publication of case studies takes a snapshot of investment in healthcare facilities across Northern Ireland in the decade since 2002, focusing on the links between better quality architecture and the delivery of primary services.
