Senior Design Manager

RKD’s office network spans multiple locations in Ireland (Dublin, Cork, Waterford, and Belfast) and in Europe (Belgium, UK, Sweden, Italy, Spain and Poland). We are responsible for delivering complex projects in 25 countries across EMEA and North & South America.

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Design Manager at a leading international architectural practice.

The successful candidate has experience working across multiple sectors of the practice, with multiple clients, design teams and on various projects. They should have experience working at all work stages of a project. The experience must range from early-stage design to completion of a medium to large scale complex construction project. The role requires a well-rounded understanding of the construction process and the architect’s roles and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to lead and manage the delivery of multiple projects as per client’s instructions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within the agreed fee.
  • Expert project level design knowledge and expertise.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Architectural Design and the relevant parameters of performing same.
  • Be familiar with and demonstrate an understanding of the contractual obligations of all parties, under various procurement routes.
  • Site visits to provide construction and technical support.

Requirements

  • Strong Revit skills advantageous but not essential.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years experience working in the Irish construction sector.
  • Professionally qualified Architectural Technologist or Architect with professional experience in complex projects. Candidates with a project management or engineering background also desirable.
  • Applicants must be familiar with current Irish and/or UK Building and Planning Regulations.
  • Experience in the high technology, process driven or industrial sector building design.
