Queen’s University Belfast is holding a Sustainable Construction Conference, in partnership with South West College, Belfast City Council, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and HOK.
The conference will take place on Wednesday 28th February 8.45am to 1.15pm in Riddel Hall, Isdell Courtyard.
It is a half-day event designed to deepen knowledge of reducing carbon in buildings with a focus on embodied carbon. This event will be of interest to all those involved in the design, construction & operation of the built environment.

- 9.30am: Welcome and Opening Remarks, Michael Alcorn, Associate pro-Vice-Chancellor for Sustainability, Queen’s University Belfast
- 9.35am: ‘Setting the Scene’, Debbie Caldwell, Climate Commissioner, Belfast City Council
- 9.55am: ‘It’s not a bolt on – The importance of early decisions’, Joe Jack Williams, Passivhaus Consultant, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios
- 10.25am: ‘Doing more with less – Minimising carbon in material specification and construction’, Una Barrett, KTP Associate, Queen’s University Belfast

Please note that there is limited car parking available within Riddel Hall. Whilst there may be on street parking along Stranmillis Road, attendees are encouraged to commute via public transport or by foot/bicycle. Blue badge parking is available within Riddel Hall.
