Preparing for Practice – Part 3 Pre-Exam Discussion

RSUA invites all Part 3 students due to take their exams in the Autumn to “Preparing for Practice”, which is an informal pre-exam discussion led by experts in their respective fields.

This year the event will be held in Queen’s University Belfast and will start with a short welcome from Paul McAlister, RSUA President and close with a panel Q&A from the speakers.

Whilst this event is focussed on helping Part 3 students prepare for their final exams it also provides a useful refresher to any recently qualified architects and can also be beneficial to Part 2 students.  Indeed, all architects and architecture students are welcome to attend.

Topics for discussion include:

  1. What Artificial Intelligence (AI) means for architects (Niall Patrick Walsh, Archinect)
  2. Designing for fire and life safety (Joan McCoy, White Ink Architects)
  3. Project handover and completion (Jim Armstrong, Dimensions Design & Management)
  4. Fee management and writing a scope of services (Martin Hare, McAdam Design)
  5. The planning process for large projects (Michael Gordon, Turley)
