RIBA Standard Agreements 2010 + RIBA Fees Calculator

a half day seminar in Malone House, Barnett Demesne, Belfast at 9.30 to 12.30 on Tuesday 8 February 2011

RIBA Agreements 2010

The new suite of RIBA Agreements 2010 is a versatile set of appointment documents for architects, which are designed to be tailored easily to the needs of individual projects.  They aim to protect the interests of the architect whilst being fair so far as the client is concerned.

Appointment agreements and the associated fee schedules need to clearly define the scope of services and payment arrangements, and to include provisions to protect copyright, limit liabilities, protect your cash flow in the event of non-payment and obtain additional fees for extra work.  This review will include:-

  • ARB and RIBA code of conduct requirements in relation to appointments
  • Key provisions of the RIBA conditions
  • Use of additional services schedules
  • The obligations and authority of the architect
  • Options in the event of non-payment of fees
  • Fee adjustment and claiming additional fees
  • Dispute resolution
  • Implications of consumer protection legislation

An introduction to the RIBA Fees Calculator

The new RIBA Fees calculator is designed to assist practices in preparing fee proposals that help their clients to better understand the process and professionalism involved in the architects’ service.  This free resource aims to ensure architects and practices charge appropriately for their services and are able to properly serve their clients needs.
