Early Career Architect’s Architect-led Tour – Caledon Wool Store

Early Career Architects* are invited to attend an architect-led tour of the 19th century Caledon Woolstore, which has been recently refurbished and extended as a childcare facility by award winning architect Mark Hackett. There are only 10 places available, so you’ll need to be quick to book before they get snapped up.

The Wool Store in Caledon, County Tyrone was constructed in 1823, and currently forms part of a wider restoration project which will bring building back into use as a focal point in the local community. A new extension, designed by award-winning architect, Mark Hackett, allows the original building to connect to the raised south-facing garden on the sloped site and incorporates energy-efficiency measures, helping to improve the overall sustainability of the building.

The Forum supports architects in Northern Ireland in the early stages of their career and provides support and learning opportunities such as this.

* Early career is being defined as the first ten years of active work as an architect. Periods where an architect is not actively working as an architect are not considered part of the first ten years.
