The event is jointly hosted by professional bodies ACE, RICS, ICE, RSUA and RTPI, and supported by a number of associate bodies across the built environment. The panel will consist of NI Assembly candidates from the main political parties in Northern Ireland including:
- Steve Aiken OBE (UUP)
- Connor Duncan (SDLP)
- Naomi Long (Alliance Party)
- Daithí McKay (Sinn Féin)
This event is a unique opportunity for party candidates to showcase their policy positions across a range of areas, including construction, infrastructure, planning, and housing. The Hustings will be chaired by Mark Simpson BBC political correspondent, and will resemble a ‘Question Time’ format, with panellists responding to questions from the floor and debating key built environment issues of importance to Northern Ireland.
Together ACE, RICS, ICE, RSUA and RTPI represent thousands of members in Northern Ireland. The breadth and depth of the joint professions embodies all aspects of the built environment, encompassing places and spaces shaped by people, buildings, and infrastructure networks.
