QUB ArcSoc are organising an online lecture entitled “Architecture of its Time and Place: thoughts from a general practitioner” being delivered by Richard Murphy OBE.
Richard Murphy founded the practice of Richard Murphy Architects in 1991 which has since won nineteen RIBA awards, more than any other practice in Scotland. Awards range across many building types, including education, the arts, healthcare, and housing, and demonstrate both the high design standards of the practice generally and its versatility.
Richard’s work has been extensively reviewed in the press and he himself frequently contributes to architectural journals.
His other honorary positions include:
Member of the RIBA, a Fellow of the RIAS, an Academician of the Royal Scottish Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and an Honorary Fellow of Napier University.
