Billie Tsien of Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects/Partners delivers the Annual Peter Rice Lecture “Not What But Why”
The New York firm of Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects/Partners has won numerous accolades including the Arnold W Brunner Memorial Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Architecture Design, and the AIA Architecture Firm Award. They are both recipients of the National Medal of Arts, awarded by President Obama.
Billie Tsien has served on the panels and boards of the National Endowment for the Arts, the Percent for Art Jury for the cities of New York and Seattle, and the Public Art Fund. She has taught at numerous institutions including Parsons School of Design, Harvard and Yale. She held the Thomas Jefferson chair at the University of Virginia and the Harvey S Perloff chair in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA.
