Retrofit of Traditional Buildings: Historic Environment Division Guidance
Location: Online
Date: 05 September 2024
Duration: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Existing buildings and the built environment have a large role to play in achieving net zero. However, older buildings can sometimes raise additional challenges for improving energy performance, with the need to ensure that materials and methods used do not compromise the built fabric, and can retain the buildings’ special interest and character.
This 1-hour online CPD session will introduce up-to-date best practice guidance on retrofit and improving thermal performance in traditional buildings; based on Historic Environment Division’s Guidance for the Thermal Upgrade of Traditional Buildings, 2024. The talk will last approximately 45mins, with an opportunity to ask questions in a 15min Q&A.

This includes construction and architecture professionals looking to engage with latest HED guidance, but could also be of benefit to building owners and those responsible for maintenance and repair, who would like to know more about best practice in planning retrofit works to older buildings.
