The Risk of Fire in Historic Buildings

Every year, some 400 historic buildings in the UK succumb to fire.  This is typically very rapid, with severe consequences.   This talk will look at why this happens, focusing on the special risks posed by the design and construction of our historic buildings. Through this talk participants will gain a better/basic understanding of the special risks that those working on historic properties face. The session will not cover any in depth and active fire protection, instead, the intention is to explain what the fundamental issues are.

This CPD Session is ideal for architects working on existing and historic properties or anyone with an interest in this field.
