Fire Safety Changes to the Building Regulations NI

There has been a lot of talk and media coverage about changes to building regulations in relation to fire. But what has been happening in Northern Ireland?

To help members we have organised this two hour in-person seminar to cover the current fire regulations in NI, forthcoming changes locally and an overview of the changes in England which are likely to have a bearing on what happens in this region over the next few years.

Mabel Higgins, MH Fire Safety – Speaker Bio

Mabel Higgins (BSc (Hons), MSc FE, ICIOB, MIFireE) is the founder & director of MH Fire Safety Ltd, a leading fire safety consultancy service.

Currently operating with Mabel at the helm, and her 23 years of construction experience spanning both the public and private sectors. It was during her 15 years of experience within her senior role within Building Control she rose through the ranks to become the specialist in Fire Safety, and regularly advising & reviewing on complex fire engineering solutions throughout many Northern Ireland council areas.

As well as an impressive list of qualifications within her field she is a Chartered member of the Inst of Builders and a member of the Institute of Fire Engineers. Having been elected for her second term as Chairperson of the NI Building Regulations Advisory Committee (NIBRAC) a statutory body appointed by the NI Secretary of State she also consults on the changes happening within the Building Regulations.
