Carbon Literacy Training

Climate change is rarely out of the news.  Indeed, it may be the greatest challenge of this generation, but have you taken the time to fully understand the issues and to reflect on the actions you can take to address climate change?

RSUA has organised this Carbon Literacy Training in partnership with Climate NI to provide RSUA members with the space to consolidate your understanding of climate change, to consider your role in tackling the challenges that climate change poses and to create a personal action plan.

The course will also help architects to communicate more effectively with clients on this important issue.

Course outcomes

By the end of the training, you will have:

  • Gained an understanding of the basic science of climate change and how climate change will affect us both globally and locally.
  • Gained an understanding of how climate change will affect organisations in NI and what role you can play.
  • Explored the low carbon and climate resilience objectives in the Built Environment sector.
  • Created an action plan to help reduce the carbon footprint and create a well-adapted organisation.
  • Explored strategies for influencing others to take action on climate change.

The training is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project. Participants need to complete the full session and complete a pledge form to receive certification.
