CPCNI Annual Signature Event – save the date
17/09/2019
“New Thinking, Responsible Actions – NI Construction Professionals” – the Construction Professional Council NI’s Annual Signature Event will be held on 14 November at 12:30pm. RSUA is a member of the CPCNI.
The 14th of June 2017 marked a turning point in the UK Construction Industry. The nation watched as the tragic Grenfell Tower Fire unfolded, a fire which resulted in the loss of 72 lives. Following the fire, the Hackitt Report was commissioned as an independent review of building regulations and fire safety. The report exposed systemic failures in the construction industry and stated that the current building regulatory system is “not fit for purpose”. The recently published interim report, ‘Raising the bar’; by the Industry Response Group, raised many questions about the competence levels within our industry. Until now relatively little has been said about one of the most fundamental questions of all, how do we improve industry competence and culture?
This event will address how the local industry and specifically construction professionals can practically address the necessary improvements to industry competence and culture.
CPCNI has secured a number of high profile speakers, including Graham Watts OBE, Chief Executive of CIC and Chair of Competence Steering Group, Professor John Cole CBE, Chair of the review panel for of Building Standards Compliance and Enforcement in Scotland.
CPCNI believes this is a very important event for all those who are involved in the construction industry and we therefore hope that you will reserve the afternoon of the 14th November in your diary for this event.
Further event details and booking form will be published soon.
